I’m definitely going to be participating this year - I’ve had my eye on the new Stunning and Irresistible collections since they first came out.  What colors are all of you looking to pick up?

OPI’s OZ The Great and Powerful collection came in today at work and I couldn’t resist posting a few swatch photos.  I left the swatch labels in for identification purposes - the only unlabeled color is Black Onyx, which isn’t part of the collection, but I needed a dark color to show the glitters’ true potential.

My favorite by far is Lights of Emerald City, though I’m disappointed that we didn’t get any shimmery greens or golds in this collection.

I wanted to try challenging myself because I’ve been in a bit of a nail art rut lately, so I pulled out my Japanese nail magazines and picked a design to modify for my tastes.  I love the cut-out elements!
Colors are all Gelish - Emerald Dust, You’re So Sweet You’re Giving Me a Toothache, and Inner Vixen.

First off, excuse the dry cuticles.  I was so excited to post that I took my photo pre-cuticle oil.  Whoops!
Just one nail today because the main point of this post is to draw attention to this Nail Nerd post on making your own nail decals.  Most tutorials I’ve seen suggest saran wrap or a sandwich baggie as the base to draw the nail decals on, but this is the first one I’ve seen that suggests parchment paper!
And it worked beautifully!  I’m currently letting some of my smaller designs dry, but my marble design was thin enough to peel off and apply already.  The edges aren’t perfect, but it’s definitely better than my attempts using other tutorials.  Has anyone else tried this technique?

My sister recently started working towards a vet tech certification, so I gave her some simple paw print nail art to sport at work.  She chose the blue base, then told me to pick a color for the paw prints that made it look like “a magical kitten walking across the sky”.  Such cute imagery!
Base is Zoya Tallulah and paw prints are China Glaze Lorelei’s Tiara.

Today’s nails are a little different than what I normally post.  I’ve spent two days trying to capture how lovely my holo Gelish manicure is, but to no avail.  So, as a last resort, I took a short video to capture what I see whenever I look at my nails.  It turned out really well, I think!

Base is Gelish Bella’s Vampire with a layer of a Top It Off/Spectraflair powder mixture.

I really like the idea of a reverse accent nail, where every nail is full of patterns except for one.  I tried my hand at it today and it turned out looking like a Hawaiian shirt!  And, of course, my camera never seems to be able to capture the beautiful scattered holo of DS Radiance, but it’s definitely there!
Colors are OPI DS Radiance, OPI Ogre the Top Blue, Star Gazer Chrome, and China Glaze Lemon Fizz.

I’ve fallen in love with Gravity Falls, especially Mabel and her ever-changing assortment of sweaters.  The best one, by far, is her “Meow Wow!” purple sweater.  I had to try recreating it to carry a little bit of Mabel silliness around. :D

Base is Color Club Pucci-licious, all details in acrylic paint.

At work, the sugaring tech and I have been trading services lately - she sugars my underarms and I paint her nails.  Today, she asked for me to do her fingers and toes in colorful leopard print, so this is what we came up with together!

Base is OPI Tickle my France-ey, spots are OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI?, OPI Fly, and Venique Pump Up The Jam.

I picked up NAIL MAX’s August issue a few days ago, so I wanted to try recreating a few of their suggested nail art sets.  This is mostly faithful to the original except for the pinkie nail (because it felt a little too plain for me) and I used pink instead of orange.
Colors are Essie Little Brown Dress, American Apparel Crescent Heights and China Glaze For Audrey.
